What Makes us Tick.
Vela Care was created to provide personalised disability support that truly respects each person’s individual needs, strengths, and capabilities. We believe people should feel supported to live life on their own terms, with choice, dignity, and independence at the centre of everything we do.
Our role is to walk alongside both NDIS and aging participants and in a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment, supporting them to identify opportunities, build confidence, and achieve the goals that matter most to them. We take the time to listen, understand, and tailor supports so they feel practical, empowering, and meaningful.
Through a comprehensive range of services, Vela Care aims to reduce everyday barriers and support participants to feel valued, connected, and confident as active members of their community - while contributing to a thoughtful, respectful approach to modern, person-centered care.
Why Vela Care Exists
Vela Care exists because support should feel human, not transactional.
After years of working closely with people navigating disability and aged care systems, it became clear that too often services are built around processes, rosters, and funding - not around the person receiving the support. When care becomes rushed or impersonal, people feel managed rather than genuinely supported.
Vela Care was created to be different. We intentionally remain a small, relationship-focused service so we can truly know the people we support - their routines, preferences, challenges, and goals. This depth of understanding allows us to provide care that is consistent, responsive, and meaningful, rather than one-size-fits-all.
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: when people feel seen, heard, and understood, they are better supported to live with dignity, independence, and confidence. That belief guides every decision we make, every relationship we build, and every support we provide.
Our Mission & Values
At Vela Care, our mission is to deliver high-quality, person-centred NDIS and in-home aged care supports that empower people with the resources, opportunities, and genuine support they need to live well and thrive.
We are committed to evolving the standard of participant care by placing dignity, choice, and meaningful connection at the heart of everything we do.
Our Vision
We envision a community where there is a shared understanding of the support each person needs to live with purpose, independence, and dignity. We believe that when growth feels limited, it is our responsibility to look beyond the individual and strengthen the environment, supports, and conditions around them to enable progress.
This belief is deeply embedded in our values and guides how we support every participant and family we work with.
Our Values
Respect We honor each person’s choices, views, beliefs, and lived experience, recognising their right to direct their own life.
Honesty We communicate openly, act with integrity, and follow through on our commitments.
Confidentiality Privacy and trust are foundational to our work. We uphold strict confidentiality and ethical practices in all aspects of care.
Personal Development We value growth that is guided by participant feedback, reflection, and collaboration - continually improving our services to achieve better outcomes.
Safe & Supportive Environments We are committed to creating environments where participants and staff feel heard, respected, and supported with the resources they need to thrive.
Purpose-Driven Care We are deeply committed to making a positive difference. Our purpose is reflected in how we support participants - with compassion, professionalism, and the care we would extend to our own family.
